Andrea, Claire, Colleen, Emmi, Lauren and Victoria are each exceptional. They have thrown themselves into their practice with full force, meeting RedBird’s rigorous requirements and bringing a new energy and enthusiasm to classes. Please join us in acknowledging their achievements.
As our new teachers accumulate the hours they need to pass their Pilates Method Alliance exam, RedBird will offer a special rate for private training with anyone of them.
For just $50 per session – that’s $35 off standard rates – you can explore apparatus work with a professional at your side. Private training achieves results in ways that aren’t possible in group classes. Take advantage of this opportunity to work on your specific issues, move closer to meeting your personal fitness goals, and dive deeper into RedBird’s unique method and movement modalities.
Take advantage of this limited-time offer. Send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org or let us know next time you are in the studio.
Andrea has practiced and enjoyed movement all her life, starting with ballet and modern dance in her native Argentina, and then taking up yoga and tango when she moved to the United States. After discovering Pilates at RedBird, she enrolled in the RedBird Teacher Training Program to study the method in greater depth and to advance her own practice. Andrea loves RedBird’s focus on precision and alignment, and she believes in the power of movement to make lives better.
Claire has always found joy in movement, from her childhood ballet training and high school soccer playing, to her commitment to group exercise and ballet classes as an adult. She has volunteered at dance studios in both Boston and Austin. Claire found RedBird through our corporate wellness program and eventually enrolled in the RedBird Teacher Training Program. Claire immediately took to RedBird’s method, with its emphasis on education and proper body mechanics. She is thrilled to share what she is learning with RedBird’s growing community.
Colleen was always active, but never athletic growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. Sometime after graduating from Notre Dame College of Ohio with a degree in early childhood education and receiving her AMI Elementary Montessori teaching certificate, she decided to pursue a teaching career in Austin. After sustaining a lower-back injury and a traumatic elbow injury her active lifestyle started to slip away. That’s when Colleen discovered RedBird. After a year of Pilates and movement training, her life turned around, and she felt healthier and happier than ever before. Colleen’s return to active life inspired her to pursue the RedBird Teacher Training Program. She is excited to help others achieve health and happiness through Pilates and fitness.
A dancer and athlete from a young age, Emmi trained in the Cecchetti method of ballet, and the Graham and Limón methods of modern dance. As captain of her varsity track team, she broke records in the 100- and 200-meter sprints while leading her team to victory at the Horizon League championships in Southern California. Since then Emmi’s approach to exercise is one of balance and necessity. In 2012, she experienced an injury which reduced her normal exercise regime to almost nothing, and after a year of searching, she found RedBird. Within six months of RedBird training, she felt as strong as she did back in high school. She joined the RedBird Teacher Training Program to further her understanding of Pilates and to learn RedBird’s secret to being awesome. Emmi is excited to share that awesome with others.
Lauren joins the RedBird teaching staff with an extensive history of fitness and movement training. Starting with ballet around the time she began walking, Lauren has always integrated some sort of dance or fitness in her life. She began taking Pilates as a supplement to dance training in middle school and found it again while attending the University of Washington in Seattle. Lauren is now settled in Austin and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition at the University of Texas. She believes in the power of diet and fitness to transform lives and bodies and looks forward to sharing her knowledge of both with RedBird clients.
Less than a month after moving Austin, Victoria suffered serious injuries in a bicycle accident. She began practicing Pilates at RedBird to regain strength, mobility and body alignment, and in 2013 she enrolled in the RedBird Teacher Training Program. Originally from Lincoln, England, Victoria has a background in dance and is a gymnastic and trampoline coach. Since moving to Texas, she has taken up sprint triathlons, winning three races in 2013. Victoria is a fitness/sports model and voice-over artist, and she publishes academic journals for a UK engineering institution.
